Delivered! We got a very dark brown gorgeous female out of XXXquisite and Five O’Clock Somewhere on 11/16/17 - after doing some research, the crias color is exactly that of grandsire Snowmass Extreme, in a pedigree full of whites and lights... this is a real treat! XXXquisite can deliver DARK colors!

EPDs: In TOP 1% in Fleece Weight, Top 10% SDAFD & %M, Top 15% in Spin fineness and %>30, and she tops off the chart with Top 25% in AFD, Mean Curve and Mean Staple Length. XXXquisite is a trait leader in every single category!

She moved here with the Gedney herd from Idaho in 2011 and I sought her from the get-go! Her fleece is just WOW. Long, bright and so full of bundled beautiful crimped fleece architecture. XXXquisite has the added bonus of giving us over 8lbs of fleece at shearing as well. She is a large-frame female, therefore we bred her with the most exquisite compact male we wanted to put in to service: Five O'Clock somewhere. Five O'clock took 4th place in a tough class of whites at GWAS and was noted for his uniformity and fleece character across his shoulder to rump. We were so impressed we sent grid sampling off and his histograms were infact one of the most uniform of the males here. When XXX won first place at the SW Regional under Amanda Vandenbosch, she stated a compact male would be a perfect pairing when it came to breeding. We chose Five O'Clock Somewhere for XXXquisite due to his compact size.

XXXquisite is the daughter of two-time Herdsire of the Year Snowmass XXXtreme and Hummingherd's Troy, a Marco Polo daughter who won the Spirit of Fiber Industry Award in the AFCNA Fleece Show. Troy's dam, a Caligula granddaughter, won the Fred Walker Trophy for the most fleece points in the AOBA Fleece Show. So XXXquisite has some pretty wonderful fleece genes and rich dark fawn color to boot.

Her first histogram, with AFD 16.5, is excellent and her handle is fabulously soft. Her fleeces display the bright and well defined character we seek. When I saw her 2nd years fleece shorn, I knew I wanted to own her! It was SO shiny and bright, with a great staple length as well. Lucky for me, the Gedneys of Hummingherd Alpacas were focusing on their white breeding program, so I was able to get XXXquisite from them. She is a larger female, very tall (like her dam) but easy to manage and.... sheared nearly 8lbs of luxurious dark fawn fleece in 2016! Her size must be worth it, as we're happy to get THAT much fiber! XXX proved her perfect conformation in the show ring taking a 1st place under Amanda Vandenbosch at the SW Regional Alpaca Show..

She was exposed (rebred) to our ‘Rafael’ in December, but we have not confirmed pregnancy
